Course of study: Information Technology and Econometrics

Graduate profile

A graduate of first-cycle programme in Information Technology and Econometrics will have basic knowledge of broadly defined economics, management and finance, will be familiar with mathematical, statistical and econometric methods and tools for the analysis of micro- and macroeconomic events. He/she will be able to make rational decisions during day-to-day operations of any type of economic entity or organisation, will be well acquainted with economic information technology, especially with respect to designing, programming and deployment of IT systems and computer network administration.Graduates will be ready to pursue a career of economist in public or local government institutions or to take a position in research institutes which require the use of mathematical, statistical, econometric and IT tools. They will be capable of setting up and running their own business and to fulfil tasks assigned by the management board of an enterprise or institution of their employment. Due to the special character of the University, a graduate from the Faculty of Management should be equipped with knowledge and skills necessary for solving organisation and management issues related to production and logistics management, financial management, marketing as well as organisation of human resources in production facilities.
A graduate from the studies should have a knowledge of English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. He/she should also be able to use English in occupational contexts, e.g. in fields such as economics, management, finance, applied mathematics and information technology. The graduate should be aware of the ethical and social responsibility pertaining to the role of economist.
The graduate should be prepared to proceed to the second-cycle programme.
